FL Fine Art, LLC is an independent curatorial and art advisory practice founded by Fiona Laugharn, specializing in artist legacies, exhibitions, archival research, and appraisal. Working with artists, estates, foundations, collectors, galleries, and museums, the practice brings together scholarship and art-market experience to preserve artists' histories while creating opportunities for their work in the present.

Fiona Laugharn

I am an independent curator, writer, artist legacy consultant, and USPAP-compliant appraiser with fourteen years of experience across museums, galleries, auction houses, artist estates, and foundations. My work focuses on American modern, postwar, and contemporary art, with particular interests in archives, provenance, and the ways research can reshape our understanding of an artist's life and work.

Through FL Fine Art, I collaborate with artists and estates on long-term legacy planning, archival research, exhibitions, publications, institutional outreach, and collection management. I also curate independent exhibitions and provide USPAP-compliant appraisal and advisory services for private collectors and estates.

Previously, I founded and directed the Object Research & Writing team at Pace Gallery and held positions at David Zwirner, Blum & Poe, Christie's, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. I received a BA in Art History from Bard College and an MA with Distinction in Contemporary Art Theory from Goldsmiths, University of London. My additional training includes Nazi-era provenance research at the University of Denver, international law and cultural heritage at Tulane University/Siena, and the Appraisers Association of America's Comprehensive Appraisal Studies Program. I am an Associate Candidate Member of the Appraisers Association of America and am USPAP-compliant.

I believe diligent research in the present preserves an artwork's past for the future. Whether curating an exhibition, working through an artist's archive, stewarding an estate, researching a provenance, or advising a collector, my work begins with the same thing: looking closely at what is already there and finding ways to carry its history forward.
